Week 6

Hello everyone,

So we have started working on volleys and overheads this past week. We have spent every week so far working on groundstrokes and being able to rally by preparing our racket early and looking to get in the best position where we are balanced before we hit the ball. We will continue to work on this, hopefully through more actual rallying, and not as much basket feeding. If the kids are showing improvement we will be letting them play more points, where rallying a certain number of shots will be required before the point starts.

In the following couple of weeks, we will focus our basket feeding more on volleys and overheads, and teaching the kids proper technique and preparation.

Also, just a reminder again to all the parents, that there will be an informative meeting this Wednesday, November 4th, at 7:30 pm in the ORC restaurant. If you have any questions or just to wish to meet the program leaders and our tennis director, you are all welcome to come.

Happy Halloween to everyone!!!!

Week 5

Hi everyone,

So the past few weeks we have spent a lot of time working on technique for groundstrokes, and we will continue to do that this week as well. We will add volleys and overheads into the mix as well. We will try to instill some basic volley and overheads principals, such as the right grip, that most kids are missing.

Finally for this week, we hope to have the kids playing more points while being able to maintain rallies.

Also for all the parents, there will be a parents' meeting with the tennis director, Yves Boulais, and the program leaders on Wednesday, November 4. Everyone is invited and the meeting will be held in the ORC restaurant.

Week 4

Hello to everyone,

The past three weeks we have done a lot of feeding and rallying where we worked on balance and early preparation. We will continue to work on preparation and balance but we will challenge the kids more with more intense feeding from the basket. We will also start playing some points towards the end of the practice to see if the kids are able to maintain rallies.

Just a reminder to all the kids, as the weather outside is getting colder, it is also getting colder inside the bubble as well. So make sure you come prepared and a bring a long sleeves shirt, preferably a tninner one, in which you can play and move around in comfortably.

Also if any of the kids miss their regular days and wish to do a make up class, please check with me which days there is space for a make-up, as the classes are getting full and there is less space for make ups on some days.

Week 3

Hello everyone,

I hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving. So this week we will continue to work on consistency and the general ability to keep the ball in the court. We will try to challenge the kids as we will do more cross-court rallying and change of direction with our regular counting.

We will also continue to work on everybody's technique through feeding, where we get more of a chance for technical correction.

This week's plan

Hi everyone,

So the first week has passed and all the coaches have had a chance to see all the kids' levels.
One of the most important things in tennis is the ability to keep the ball in the court and rally with consistency. So this week, we will continue developing a warm-up routine, where we will work on improving consistency and maintaining rallies.
We will also do a lot of feeding, as many of the kids need technical adjustments in order to better maintain rallies.
